Tried to engage the auger this morning and it made a bit of noise and smoke and left some bits of rubber on the ground. Going to crack it open tonight and see what I need to replace. When we bought it we got it cheap from a friend because it needed a belt replaced. We had a professional service it to make sure everything was in working order. The drive wheels still work so that's good. Probably going to be either the two auger belts or the friction wheel.

How do the sheer pins look?

They're fine. The auger and impeller turn together.

Yeah looks like we have a lot of little storms coming through soon. I've got a buddy that'll come plow us out if needed.

You can't be far from a Stevenson with a snowplow after all haha

Probably a belt. The friction wheel is for the variable speeds. Is this an MTD?

I can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Stevenson with a plow.

It was a belt and it is an MTD. The wheel looks alright and the the drive belt is spanking new.

Use this site to look up your parts, then check at a hardware store or small engine shop. Probably one of these 3: 954-0367, 954-0430 or 954-04050

The belt is 1/2" x 44" v belt.
